Balgowlah is a suburb of Sydney 12 kilometres north-east of the CBD in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council formerly Manly Council. It is one of the southern extremities of the Northern Beaches.
Balgowlah is located just north of the Spit Bridge and a short 30-minute commute to the CBD.
It is bounded on the north by Manly Vale, the east by Fairlight, the south by Balgowlah Heights and to the west by Seaforth.
Over the years the district of Manly has shifted to its present location and the area that was originally called Manly is now Balgowlah which supposedly meant “North Shore”.
Balgowlah is a quiet and tranquil place to live with beautiful tree-lined streets and some outstanding views. Many would enjoy the sight of the Manly ferry making its way to and from Circular Quay on a daily basis.
Some of the larger houses have amazing views, both north and south over the harbour and east towards the Sydney heads. Some of the homes around Beatty, Fisher and Jellicoe Streets, not to mention Cutler Road on the other side are not only magnificent but simply breathtaking.
Our Balgowlah buyers agent has negotiated a large number of properties on behalf of its clients over the last 25 plus years with privacy and discretion. He has comprehensive local knowledge with a strong real estate business network.
Balgowlah is quite a cosmopolitan suburb with its shopping centred around the Stocklands Centre, which provides shoppers with a refreshing and more relaxed style of shopping, which is in direct contrast to the hustle and bustle of Warringah Mall. The centre also has some great restaurants and cafes on offer.
Directly above the Stocklands centre are some luxuriously appointed units and apartments to suit various tastes and budgets.
Along Sydney Road, Balgowlah has convenient access to regular city buses and is only a short distance to Manly ferry services, which offers commuters, students and tourists a beautiful way to travel to and from the city CBD.
Local schools are renowned and very popular in Balgowlah and North Balgowlah.
There are an abundance of parks and reserves including Forty Baskets which enjoys lovely water and Marina views not to mention having a great coffee shop, in addition to Tanya Park which offers amazing views of Manly and Sydney Heads.
Balgowlah is an affluent suburb that offers a great family lifestyle but yet enjoys quite a relaxed coastal vibe.
